Teresa Nyholt, MS, LCSW (she/her/hers)
Teresa received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from UW-Madison. She has worked in mental health for over 20 years, mainly in adult inpatient settings. She works with adults to effectively manage stress, life transitions, decision-making, loneliness, loss, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and addictions. Her approach is eclectic, based on person-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the underlying belief there is always an opportunity for change. Teresa is also able to provide EMDR therapy.
Teresa fosters a collaborative relationship, in which clients learn to develop their own internal resources and self-awareness. She creates a space for all feelings to be honored non-judgmentally, while also offering challenges to unhelpful beliefs and patterns that may be holding clients back. She promotes healthy coping skills, boundaries, assertiveness, and self-confidence. She believes healing and recovery have a many-fold path, in which an individual can find their own, unique way to being the person they wish to be. Teresa works with folks of any faith and non-faith and is poly- and kink-friendly.
