Janice Finerty, MS, LCSW  (she/her/hers)

Janice sees counseling as an opportunity to bring hope, peace, meaning, and connection to life. Her integrated approach includes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and Psychodynamic Therapy. This is a very gentle process that allows for the down-regulation of the central nervous system creating the necessary condition in which healing can happen.

Problems often occur when negative experiences are stored in a state that is easily triggered which causes emotional and behavioral reactivity or shut down. In this activated state a person has a sense of helplessness and powerlessness over their circumstances. This approach allows these negative experiences to be stored in a more stable state, creating a sense of empowerment that allows lasting life change to be fully realized. Janice specializes in working with trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, performance anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship or family problems. Janice works with adolescents, adults, and couples.
